March 18, 2014 Board Meeting Agenda Item #13 Title APPROVAL OF THE CTE CONNECT GRANT PROPOSAL TO THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF LABOR FOR BOOKER, NORTH PORT AND VENICE HIGH SCHOOLS Description COMPETITIVE: Grant funds of over $3.6 million will support Booker, North Port and Venice High Schools' Career Academies (Applied Engineering Technology, Hospitality Management and Allied Health Assisting) while addressing the U.S. Department of Labor's goal to decrease the number of H-1B visas issued in high-need areas.
